A Note from Rev. Ellen -

Dear Members and Friends,

This season of the year, in the old church calendar, was called "Ordinary Time."  For a stretch of weeks, we move Sunday to Sunday with celebrations of the stories of Jesus' earthly ministry, and we take a break from the usual class and meeting schedules.  Our discipleship still claims our faithfulness, though we give it different emphases in these summer days.  In the parish calendars described in these pages, you'll find opportunities for worship and study along with fellowship and service. By utilizing these seasonal offerings, your summertime can be a time to refresh and to regain the spiritual balance to carry you through the demands of the coming months.

Our 2nd annual ESMCC parish picnic will be Sunday, Aug. 29th at Thundergust, Parvin State Park.  This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to worship and relax together.  As we did last year, we will share the Eucharist at 11 a.m. and follow with picnicking and activities through the afternoon.  This year, we are fortunate to host the Covenant Players, a travelling Christian drama group, who will participate in our worship and offer entertainment following the service.  Feel free to invite our family and friends to join us.

Enjoy your Ordinary Time, and be sure to set aside Aug. 29th for a day of summertime fellowship and restoration.
